N.C.,
firefighters
who
were
lost
in
the
March
7,
2008,
Salisbury
Millworks
fire.
She
donated
the
portraits
to
the
Salisbury
Fire
Department.
The
unveiling
was
held
at
the
main
fire
station
on
E.
Innes
St.
on
Saturday,
March
7,
2009,
the
first
anniversary
of
their
deaths,
during
a
private
luncheon
for
family,
friends,
colleagues,
and
dignitaries,
which
was
held
after
the
public
memorial service.

Annette
created
photo
collages
on
which
the
compositions
of
the
oil
portraits
were
based.
The
photos
were
provided
to
her
by
the
Salisbury
fire
department.
She
provided
large
printouts
of
the
collaged
images
to
the
Salisbury
Fire
Department,
which
had
them
framed
and
then
presented
them
to
the
families
prior
to
the
two
men's
funerals
in
March
2008.
The
finished
oil
portraits
were
unveiled
on
the
first
anniversary
of
their
loss.
Annette
is
donating
the
online
versions
of
the
photo
collages
to
anyone
who
wishes
to
display
them
online
or
print
them.
The
only
restriction
is
that
they
cannot
be
used
for
commercial
purposes
(
if
a
written
release
is
required
in
order
to
have
prints
made,

).
